The GPS technology was originally invented for military purposes. But over the years and with the progress, the GPS navigation device has made the road in athletic sports. While the technology has to go running and cycling for some time said, is now in a few sports that can be used to surprise. Many athletes have begun using GPS technology in sport skating, skiing, swimming and windsurfing!
Garmin is the Garmin Forefunner primarily designed forRunners, and the Garmin Edge for cyclists. These units are incredibly accurate alternative to standard heart rate monitors and pedometers in the past of athletes, trainers and coaches used.
Many athletes are equipped with GPS technology to track the time and swim in the realization of long distance, open water. There is also an obvious safety component to use a GPS, if you're in a great expanse of the sea itself! While many GPS models are waterproof, many do not swim. Therefore, it is wise in a lightweight, waterproof case for investing. Most can be attached to the upper arm with neoprene wrap, so it does not interfere with activity. A longer strap can be set so that the device can be worn on the leg. In addition, the GPS information is always visible at a glance.
More sports-GPS technology is used in athletics, athletes will find new uses for them.But no doubt the technology is now an integral part of athletic training.
